Risk is measured based on threats and vulnerabilities. We estimate security risk through the following categories of frequent and catastrophic events that affect personal security:

Threats:

  • Health

  • Transportation

  • Crime

  • Terrorism

  • Political Unrest

Your threat and vulnerability levels are factored into both your overall risk level as well as your category risk level. The more training and experience you have regarding safety, medical care and security, the lower your risk level. To learn more about how you can lower your risk level, refer to the recommended training and services on your risk assessment.

Vulnerabilities:

  • Healthcare access and medical training

  • Security experience and training

  • Decision making ability

  • Frequency of travel

  • Familiarity of the location

  • Travel group size
